Third Full Day Behind Me

We woke up to 20 degree weather on this beautiful island. Luckily we had class all morning and headed out to shoot our models at about 3pm. It was pretty funny to see 40 photographers with hats and scarves and big coats, and then the models were freezing in their strapless dresses. Regardless, I felt like I got some great images. These are just a few of my favorites from today. Looking forward to coming home. See you soon. srt

Day Two at Love Affair

Our second full day has been cram packed with excitement. The sun did shine today, so we got to go outside and explore the island. We didn't work with models today so I had some fun learning some new techniques on the beautiful scenery. These are really for my kids, because I promised them I would share the beach with them. It was freezing today, so don't think we were bathing in the sun. My new motto today is: I want to bake cookies. I'll explain more later, but that is a goal I have set for myself when I return. It made everyone cry here today so I'm not ready to get emotional again with you, but just know that it was a huge step for me. Enjoy the images. Jase, Sadie, & Lillie Kate: I love you! Mom will be home soon. srt

First Photo Shoot

blog1

= blog2

We went out and had our first photo shoot today. It was rainy and windy, so we were limited on what we could do. It was very challenging to shoot with 4o women at the same time. Lots of heads and elbows ended up in photos.I have to turn one in for critiquing tomorrow. I will add more as I get them ready. I promised my children I would try to post some of the ocean tomorrow. Let me know what you think about my shots. We are learning some new lighting techniques. Most importantly today, we spent two hours on Life Management. Most of you know that is the real reason I am here. I got some great ideas that I hope to put into practice when I get home. srt

I made it to Bald Head

As I began to count down the hours before my departure, things began to unravel. Jase, my 11 year old, came down with a stomach virus on Saturday evening. He remained sick through much of the day Sunday, and James & I realized that our plans to spend the night in Jackson so I could catch my 6 am flight were looking questionable. So after much debate and many tears on my behalf, Evelyn and Penny, the dearest of friends, left with me headed for Jackson at 9pm Sunday night. It is never easy to leave your children, but leaving one sick with the thought of passing on to the others, made it painful to leave. James assured me that he had it under control and he sent me with his blessing. It is now Monday and I have arrived on the island. I just had to share this photo of my bed. That big fluffy white robe was our first gift. I can't wait to see what else is to come. We just had our first meeting and a great supper and are gearing up for a full day tomorrow. Keep James in your prayers. I'll post again tomorrow. srt

Love Affair Workshop is two days away

All of you who have been part of my life for the past two months know that I have been blessed with the opportunity to attend a powerful workshop for women. I will fly out of Jackson on Monday morning for Wilmington, NC and then ferry over to Bald Head. It will be 5 days of intense photography focusing on the challenges women face with wanting first and foremost to honor God and their families. I have never felt more confident that this is what I needed to refocus my business and redesign a plan that will keep everyone happy. To all of you who have supported me and prayed for me over the past few months, thank you. I don't know where I would be without you. If you have not visited the Love Affair blog, go check it out at: www.loveaffairworkshop.com . You can read my bio by choosing Stephanie on the far left column. Those of you who have left comments there have blown me away by your love and support. God is just reaffirming that I am where I need to be. I will do my best to blog this week to keep you posted on how things are going. Please leave comments, its the only way I will know you've been here. See you in a week. srt
